30 Oct Bearly Fishin
In April 2018, artist Bonnie Norling Wakeman visited the Hideout to create “Bearly Fishin,” inspired by Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park.
Bonnie creates her sculpted relief art by first drawing the scenic design on the wall, then applying and sculpting several layers of her plaster mix directly on the wall, creating a variety of textures. After the sculpting is complete, she seals the medium and then lightly glazes the artwork with transparent color to add even more depth and tone.
“I love the personal and permanent aspect of this art form, making it a special addition to the overall decor of the room!”
Bonnie lives in Summit County, Colorado, and has been creating sculpted relief art on walls across the United States for over 20 years. You can see more of her work at her website (www.transformingwalls.com).
